Trusting My Gut: How Intuition Has Guided Every Big Decision in My Life
If there’s one fact about me, it’s this—I have never had a plan a day in my life. No five-year roadmap, no meticulously outlined goals. Instead, I’ve always relied on my intuition to guide me, and so far, it’s worked out pretty well!

Why I Do What I Do: My Heart Behind My Photography
This is why I do what I do.
This is why I believe in capturing real moments- not just posed smiles, but laughter, movement, and connection. Your family photos should feel like family time. Your kids should be able to be themselves, to play, to giggle, to snuggle up with you without worrying about looking perfect. Because years from now, when time has moved forward and all you have left are the memories, these are the moments you’ll want to hold onto.
How to Dress for Spring Family Photos in Central Wisconsin

How We Found Our New Studio in Wausau, WI
Looking back, it feels like this studio was waiting for us all along. We’ve had so many moments where we looked at houses or buildings and thought, Wouldn’t that be great? But for one reason or another, they weren’t the right fit. This one? This one was different.
Most of all, I’m excited to serve the Wausau community- capturing memories, creating beautiful portraits, and offering a space where families can celebrate the moments that matter most. I can’t wait to welcome you into the Studio!

My Photography Style, Explained
I describe my photography style as bright, vibrant, and true-to-life. But that’s not exactly a “style” you see when searching for a photographer, so you might be wondering what that means, and what kind of images you can expect. Here’s a little break down of what I aspire my photographs to look like.

Ice Storm in Wausau, WI
It’s official- winter is here for good! I feel spoiled with all of the warm weather we’ve had in the last two months- it definitely hasn’t felt like a normal Wisconsin winter yet.
But yesterday’s ice storm, which is now turning into a full-blown snowstorm, is changing that fast.

Welcome Home Milk Toast- Kitten Adoption Marathon, WI
I have been saying “no more animals!” for quite a while now. We were down to two dogs and one cat, and honestly even just the three of them can be a lot sometimes.
But, when we brought Beethoven into the County Center Animal Hosptial to get an ear infection treated, we saw this sweet little kitten all on her own in a big kennel. She was the last of her litter, just waiting for a family!

NitroTour Monster Truck Show~ Wausau WI
This weekend we went to the Monster Truck show at Marathon Park in Wausau! The entire park was packed- it seemed like all of Wausau was there!

Lilly’s Senior Portrait Session in Wausau, WI~ Class of 2023
Lilly is about to start her Senior Year at Mosinee High School!
We had so much fun walking around the 400 Block of downtown Wausau. About an hour or two before her session, Wausau was pelted with pouring rain, but it cleared in time for a beautiful sunny session… at least we thought! Halfway through, the next storm raced in.

Taste N’ Glow Balloon Fest Wausau, WI Part 2: Glow Fest
I can’t decide what was more amazing- seeing the hot air balloons lift up into the clear blue sky, or seeing the balloons light up the night in time to music!
Both events were so incredible. If you didn’t get a chance to read Part 1 and see the amazing images of the balloons in flight, check it out here.

Taste n’ Glow Balloon Fest Wausau, WI Part 1: Lift Off
When I heard about the Taste N’ Glow event just outside of Wausau, I was so excited to see hot air balloons in person. I am so glad we went! It was a much bigger event than I anticipated, and I’m still in awe of the community of people it took to get this event to take off (pun intended).

Las Vegas Part 1
Instead, we went to Red Rock Casino, who put on an excellent show just after dark. It was windy enough that cancellations were a concern, and you could see a few fireworks that were a little low. But overall, the fireworks were amazing! They did an awesome job, and many areas around the city were going off at the same time, so if you were up high enough, you could see fireworks in every direction!

Celebration of Life for Steve Wedekind
Yesterday, we celebrated the life of my Dad, Steve Wedekind. Because I didn’t take any pictures of the Celebration, I’m going to showcase one of the ways my Dad is living on in our lives instead.

Zdanowski Extended Family Session~ Manitowoc, WI
You may recognize a few faces in this extended family session- Amber and Chris were some of my first clients, and I have had the joy of capturing their family every year as their family has grown.
This time, Amber brought the whole clan!
We were really worried about the weather on this one- the forecast suddenly changed, and we were looking at downpours at the time of their session!
It’s so difficult to get everyone’s schedule to line up for an extended family session like this, so postponing was the last thing we wanted to do.

Visiting Great Grandma
This past Sunday, we spent the afternoon at my Grandma’s house- Everett’s Great Grandma Barb!

Willow Blossoms
This tree was one of the first plants to show signs of life this spring. The soft, fuzzy catkins grew in early and slowly bloomed out into these yellow and orange blossoms until quickly drooping and giving way to soft green leaves.

Lunar Eclipse
This lunar event was the perfect way to get Everett excited for summer school. When I told him that we were almost done with homeschool for the summer, he said he didn’t want to stop learning- and what an excellent way to show him that learning doesn’t just happen at the kitchen table, but all around us as we experience the Earth and build a life we can be excited about.
Check out a few of the pictures as the moon moved into our shadow and turned that epic red color of the Blood Moon!

Dreamy Leaves in Spring
I just love these dreamy leaves, with all the blur and bokeh in the background! This right here is why I needed a macro lens. And yes, it was definitely a need versus a want!

Springtime Go-Kart Driving
This wasn’t Everett’s first time out with his Coleman go-kart this year, but it was the first time it was nice enough to bring out my camera! He loves to see how fast he’s going- his favorite pictures aren’t the ones where I freeze motion completely, but the one’s that show the wheels spinning fast and the grass flying-and they might be my favorites too!
