How many photos do you deliver?

I deliver all of the edited images that pass my quality standards. I don’t have a set amount that I promise, but an hour session usually results in a gallery of about 100-150 pictures. For weddings and large events, your gallery will typically be 500-1000 images. We believe in giving you all of your pictures, because that’s what we would want too! The only exception to this is a Mini-Session, which is generally a short 15-min session with a selection of images to choose from, with an option to purchase extra portraits. These sessions are only available a few times a year.

How do I receive my pictures?

All of your images will be delivered in an online gallery, where you will be able to download, ‘heart’ your favorite images, share with friends on social media, and order prints from my professional printing lab. You also receive printing rights to print at any printing lab of your choice. You will have lifetime access to this gallery, so you can share and download pictures as much as you want!

How do you describe your photography?

My style is bright, vibrant, and true-to-life. I love capturing scenes as they are. While I enhance my pictures in Lightroom, my editing style is minimal to show off your real beauty. For my landscapes, I believe the world is amazing just the way it is. Simple adjustments is all it takes to show off the magic of nature.

How far do you travel for sessions?

We are based in Wausau, Wisconsin. Travel is included throughout Wisconsin and parts of Minnesota. For anything further away, please message for details- we love to travel!

My kids hate pictures. How do you get them to cooperate?

It can be so hard get nice pictures of your kids! I base my approach on their personality. Do they need some time to feel relaxed? We’ll take it slow. Do your kids have tons of energy? We can incorporate games and play into your session to give them opportunities to have fun. We also have a few bubble machines we can break out- everybody loves to run, chase, and pop bubbles! We love to focus on connection- so you’re not just standing still and smiling at the camera. I encourage genuine interaction with your family- this keeps your smiles from fading and looking forced.

How much do you charge for a second photographer?

We are a husband-and-wife team- so the second photographer is included! If I determine the need for a second photographer, one is provided at no additional cost. Allen generally attends weddings, events, and extended family sessions. While most family sessions only require one photographer, sometimes it’s nice for my husband to come along and help with equipment, getting kids to smile, and finding the best spots for pictures.

How should we prepare for our session?

Great question! During the booking process, I send out a questionnaire so we can get all of the details and start planning. You also receive my pricing guide, which includes a ton of information on what to expect. Once you’re booked, I will send out a style guide for families, engagements, and senior sessions. These guides have style tips, as well as general info on getting ready for your session. You can always reach me through email to ask questions or get input on anything you may be worried about.

How do you manage inclement weather?

Outdoor sessions can always be tricky- we’re at the mercy of Mother Nature! However, I don’t like to cancel too soon when we hear there’s potentially rain or snow coming. Weather predictions aren’t always accurate, and I would hate to miss a beautiful day because of a faulty forecast. If there is dangerous weather or road conditions, we will absolutely do our best to reschedule. But for light rain or snow, I encourage my clients to hold out and see what kind of magic we can make happen. We have clear umbrellas or there may be shelters at local parks we can sit under until any heavy rain passes. But you never know when you’ll be surprised with a rainbow or a gorgeous sunset! Plus, dancing in the rain is a wonderful memory to capture;)
