A New Chapter: Hello Wausau, WI!

We are officially residents of Wausau, Wisconsin!

We had been looking for new opportunities for a while, and while discussing what our future holds, I told Allen that for our next house, I want a view of the mountains.

Little did I know that the mountain view would be our own Wisconsin mountain, right in our backyard! While others might scoff at the title ‘mountain’, nothing beats looking out our backdoor to see Rib Mountain glowing at sunset or draped in clouds after a storm.

My husband accepted a position with Northcentral Technical College in August 2021, and we have been preparing to move the whole family since he started in September.

It was an insane amount of work- my husband was in Wausau every Sunday night to Thursday night, which meant I had two kids and four animals to take care of, a business to run, a house to pack and clean and paint, basically by myself for most of the week.

Whew. I was exhausted. But, I managed to paint the entire inside of our house, pack everything and get ready for the move, all amid my busiest fall photography season yet!

While I loved our house and enjoyed the Barron area, I am so happy to be in Wausau. So far, there have been so many events to attend and so many things to do.

I’m so excited to see what Wausau has to offer and experience the vibrant community here! I may be a homebody, but there’s so many interesting things to see and do, I know the whole family will have a great time exploring Rib Mountain, seeing all of the art festivals, and enjoying Central Wisconsin.

Moving my photography business will be a challenge, but I’m exited to start capturing the beautiful landscapes of Central Wisconsin, and meeting new families who also call Wausau home!
